Brittany Mathes Winnicki, PhD

I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing individual therapy to adults located in Massachusetts or Rhode Island. I have expertise working with individuals with anxiety, OCD, and trauma-related conditions (e.g., PTSD). I flexibly integrate techniques from evidence-based psychotherapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and exposure-based therapies, to meet my clients’ unique needs.

My approach is compassionate, authentic, and flexible. I view our relationship and work together as the foundation for change. Together we will identify your unique therapy goals, build an individualized treatment plan, and take actionable steps toward your goals. As your therapist, I am here to create a safe space where you feel supported, validated, and empowered so you can make sustainable changes and build a more fulfilling life. Through our work together, my clients often report feeling less stuck in their heads and more engaged and connected in their lives.

I earned my PhD in clinical psychology from Florida State University and completed my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at VA Boston Healthcare System. I trained with top experts including at the OCD Institute at McLean Hospital and the National Center for PTSD. I was previously on staff at VA Boston, where I also provided advanced training to doctoral candidates and fellows.
