Lauren Brenner, Ph.D.
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and stress-related concerns. I provide individual therapy for adults in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. I completed my predoctoral internship at the VA Boston Healthcare System, where I trained in evidence-based treatments for PTSD and co-occurring conditions, and my postdoctoral fellowship at Home Base, a Massachusetts General Hospital and Red Sox Foundation program. I worked at Home Base for nearly a decade, where I provided trauma-focused care to veterans and family members impacted by combat and other life stressors. I also served as Clinical Director of the brain health program at Home Base during my tenure.
I have extensive experience treating adults with trauma-related disorders, anxiety, depression, and adjustment to acute and chronic medical conditions such as traumatic brain injury and cancer. My work draws on training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in research. I help clients understand the effects of trauma and chronic stress, build effective coping strategies, and strengthenresilience and self-awareness. I strive to create a supportive environment that fosters balance, confidence, and connection in my clients’ lives.
